percentage points (pp), basis points

• a percentage point (pp) is the unit for the
arithmetic difference of two percentages.
• the numerical difference when one percentage
is subtracted from another is measured in
percentage points or basis points.
e.g. the difference between 6% and 8% is
2 percentage points.

One percentage point (pp) = 1%
One basis point = 0.01 percentage points
