similarity tests for triangles
• two triangles are similar if they have
corresponding angles that are equal
and sides in the same ratio.
• there are four similarity tests for triangles:
SSS: three pairs of corresponding sides in the same ratio
AA: two pairs of corresponding angles equal
SAS: two pairs of corresponding sides in the same ratio
with the included angle equal
RHS: the ratios of the hypotenuse and one corresponding side of
two right‐angled triangles are equivalent.
